Details
We have been awarded a sum of money from the Department of Education to commission skills bootcamps. We need approval to move forward with this.
CMA Recommendations:
Agree to enter into a grant funding agreement with the Department for Education to receive £4.123m of revenue funding to deliver a skills bootcamp programme in Greater Essex over the period May 2025 to March 2026.
2.2 Agree to enter into grant agreements with the colleges and public sector partners listed in Appendix A to this report to deliver 846 Skills Bootcamps places for a period up to 31 March 2026 at a total estimated value of £1.943m.
2.3 Agree to procure services contracts to deliver 500 bootcamp places from independent training providers for a period up to 31 March 2026 at a total estimated value of £1.682m
2.4 Agree to use the Crown Commercial Services Dynamic Purchasing System RM6348: Adult Skills and Learning to determine the most suitable independent training providers to deliver the 500 bootcamp places and agree that tenders shall be evaluated on 30% price, 60% quality and 10% social value.
2.5 Agree that the Executive Director, People, Policy, Economy and Public Health is authorised to award the grant agreements referred to in paragraph 2.2 above, subject to suitable funding being confirmed by Department for Education.
2.6 Agree that the Executive Director, People, Policy, Economy and Public Health is authorised to award the services contracts for Skills Bootcamps to the successful bidders following completion of the procurement process set out in 2.4 above, provided that such contracts are within the available funding envelope and subject to suitable funding being confirmed by the Department for Education.
