Boundary Review Committee(Inactive since 31/05/2024)

To make submissions to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England with respect to the review of the ECC electoral divisions. Established by the Council at its meeting on 11 July 2023, the Committee will operate until the date of the annual meeting of the Council in 2024.

Committee to consider applications to undertake certain duties by Members and foreign travel by Officers(Inactive since 02/08/2022)

Determines whether certain categories of duty to be undertaken by a member of the Council should be considered as approved for the purposes of the Member Allowance Scheme. The Committee also approves expenditure on foreign travel by officers.

Committee to Determine the Pay and Conditions of Employment of Chief Officers and Deputy Chief Officers(Inactive since 14/07/2020)

Responsible for various issues relating to the employment of Senior Managers, including appointment and dismissal, appeals against dismissal, terms of conditions of employment and performance pay. Can also delegate to the Chief Executive or his nominee authority to deal with particular appointments and dismissals.

ECC and Essex Fire Authority Joint Standards Committee(Inactive since 10/10/2017)

To advise the Council and the Fire Authority on a local Code of Conduct for members and to promote, develop and maintain high standards of conduct by members and co-opted members of the Council and the Fire Authority. To grant dispensations under Section 33 of the Localism Act 2011 to councillors and co-opted members. To appoint a Standards (Hearings) Sub–Committee.

Essex Fire Authority (historic information only)

Essex Fire Authority (no longer active)(Inactive since 30/09/2017)

This body had oversight of the policy and service delivery of the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service until the end of September 2017. This responsibility has now transferred to the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Panel (see above)
