SPEEDING AND TRAFFIC CALMING to Ivy Chimneys/Bridge Hill/Brook Road/Sunnyside Road/Bower HIll
Petition has closed and a council responder is preparing a response.

Implement speed and traffic control to the above roads in Epping, Essex.

As I am sure Epping Council are very aware that Epping High Sreet, is continuously full of traffic all the time, making our surrounding roads a RAT RUN.

Speeding cars along Ivy Chimneys Road is becoming ridiculous, with cars passing well above 40mph in the 30mph limit, the flashing "slow down' sign is continuously on and is now totally ignored. There is also a school on this road which I am sure would benefit from a 20mph limit.  The underpass at the bottom on Bridge Hill is a death trap with speeding car blindly entering without a view of the other side.  The Children's playground on Ivy Chimneys can not be used safely by children that have to cross the road, meaning there are never any children playing out in the street.  Bower Hill residence has witnessed cars overtaking, and the junction to the station is like dicing with death, as cars speed over the blind hill.  The weekend Ivy Chimneys Rd was closed by the Water Board for repair, was like a transformation, I personally saw children cycling on the pavement - A SIGHT WE NEVER SEE - because of the fear of being run over. The road became a country road, which it is meant to be.

Parked cars have had their side mirrors broken off, as cars pass to close and too fast. This my I add includes the buses that are also speeding.

I understand that speed bumps are frowned upon due to pollution, so I would like to recommend living chicanes with trees and plants, that would enhance Epping Village whilst helping the environment and children's health.  While for blind corners, mirrors to be placed.
