Road Surface Quality and Residential Vibrations Valley Hill, Loughton
Resurface the main road, Valley Hill in Loughton.

Valley Hill is a main thoroughfare running through Loughton from Roding Road to Loughton Way. The road itself runs from all the way from Debden to Clayhall, carrying a significant level of traffic along its entire length.

Some portions of the road are in a better state than others, but the section running from Roading Road Loughton, to Loughton Way, Buckhurst Hill is significantly damaged with numerous pot holes and crevaces along its length. Sections have been patched up and repaired over the years, but parts of the road are still missing markings.

The poor road surface quality is causing strong vibrations to come off the road and into the residential houses, particularly generated by buses (Route 167) and HGV traffic. The poor condition of the road is also a safety issue, as cars and bikes swerve to avoid pot holes.

The road is not currently maintained to a level that can cope with the type, volume, and speed of the traffic using the road, and this must be addressed by the council. Recommendation: resurface the whole road, as has been done at the Loughton Way end where the road meets the Palmerston Road crossroads in Buckhurst Hill.

I would urge all resident to sign, to ensure the quality of Valley Hill is restored to an acceptable level.
