E-Petitions

The Council welcomes petitions and recognises they are one way in which people can let us know of their concerns.

All petitions should comply with our petitions policy and can be related to issues that affect the residents of Essex.

If you are considering raising a petition about a planning application or planning policy document you may find it helpful, before starting, to seek additional information by sending an email to: mineralsandwastedm@essex.gov.uk for applications or mineralsandwastepolicy@essex.gov.uk for policy documents. If possible, please quote the application reference or document title in your email and also please use it in the text of your e-petition if you decide to raise one.

By signing an e-petition you agree that your e-mail address may be shared with other signatories to that petition in any electronic correspondence to the lead petitioner.

Objections to Essex Highways' Traffic Order 8016, Springfield Road, Chelmsford.
We the undersigned would like to highlight our concerns about Essex Highways' Traffic Order 8016. where 'no parking at any
time' would severely restrict the running of the Old Court Theatre on the Springfield Road, Chelmsford.

Chelmsford Theatre Workshop is a community theatre group and registered charity, which owns the Old Court Theatre and is run
by volunteers. We put on 8 shows a year and host a children's theatre group, and all proceeds from tickets sales go into running
the building. 'No parking at any time' would drastically reduce our members' access to the theatre for regular rehearsals, and
our audiences' access for performances. It would affect accessibility to the building for children, the elderly and disabled. It
would restrict deliveries and the unloading of props, furniture, costumes and bar supplies.

A lot of the above activity for our shows is after 7.00pm, and other parking options for us and our audiences are limited in a
residential area.

Dear Mr Preston

Thank you for your recent e-petition.

These proposals have been put forward by Intelligent Transport System (ITS).

Residents were able to object by sending their objections to TrafficRegulation Order TrafficRegulation.Order@essexhighways.org. The consultation has now closed and officers are reviewing the results.

If the proposal succeeds, the outcome will be published on the Decisions website: https://cmis.essex.gov.uk/essexcmis5/Decisions.aspx

Thank you for writing to me.

Kind regards

Cllr Lee Scott
