Roles and Responsibilities

Councillor Norman Hume has represented South Woodham Ferrers since 2005 and previously represented Woodham Ferrers and Danbury (2001-2005)

Since his election to the Council in 2001 he has been involved in many aspects of County business. He served as Chairman of the Highways and Transport Policy Development Committee in 2003-2004 and was Cabinet Member with responsibility for Central Services 2005-2006 and Cabinet Member with responsibility for  Highways and Transportation 2007-2010. For the period 2014-2016 he served as Chairman of the County Council.

Councillor Hume has also served on a number of outside bodies including the Local Government Association and a number of Essex and Regional Transport Boards.
